In an uncovered video from 2019, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., said all congressmembers must question the government employees who misuse the Hatch Act.
The Hatch Act is “quite clear…in saying we cannot use our official government capacities for partisan political purposes,” Ocasio-Cortez said.
And if there’s any question about that, we ask,” she stated.
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was just accused of violating that same Hatch Act, using her official position to campaign for President Joe Biden’s re-election.
Opposition researchers from the Republican Party uncovered the footage on Thursday and had a simple question for Ocasio-Cortez.
“Any comment on Karine Jean-Pierre’s Hatch Act violations?”
The New York socialist leader has not yet responded.
