MMA legend Randy Couture, the first-ever UFC fighter to win titles in two weight classes and a six-time UFC world champion, was airlifted to a burn center this week following a serious single-car crash during a practice run at the Flying H Drag Strip, part of I‑70 Motorsports Park near Kansas City, Missouri, while training for his NHRA (National Hot Rod Association) racing debut.

According to reports, Couture was rushed via helicopter to a specialized burns unit in Kansas City, where he remains hospitalized in stable condition.
Officials said he is not expected to face life‑threatening injuries and the initial hope is for a full recovery.
Couture’s entry into drag racing this year is a new venture for the retired UFC icon, who had recently begun the process of obtaining his professional NHRA racing license.
He had spoken previously about wanting to dive into motorsports after his MMA career ended.
