U.S. Senator Takes Diving Header… in Charity Baseball Game?!

It’s supposed to be a fun, low-stakes baseball game to raise money for charity.

But don’t tell that to Missouri Senator Eric Schmitt.

Schmitt was playing left field for the Republican team in the recent Congressional Baseball Game against the Democrats’ side. The game raises money each year for Washington, DC-area charities.

And Schmitt flashed some serious leather, getting his face roughed up while making a diving catch on a fly ball. Talk about taking one for the team!

Schmitt’s Republican team ended up taking the win — their sixth in a row.
