After conservative commentator Tucker Calrson was suddenly fired from Fox News in April, he vowed revenge on the struggling cable news company.
On Sunday, he made his big move.
Carlson has just unveiled his newest venture: a streaming service called Tucker Carlson Network (TCN).
TCN quietly launched late Sunday night. The website contains both the free videos from Carlson’s Twitter account and a new, pay-walled discussion with Tablet editor-at-large Liel Liebowitz.
In the video, the two of them debate U.S. aid to Israel.
The website charges $9 per month for unlimited access to the paid videos. It also offers annual memberships for a slight discount.
On Twitter, Carlson has posted free interviews with everyone from Argentine President Javier Milei to the rapper Ice Cube. He’s also posted discussions about contemporary issues with a range of figures, including the UK Independence Party’s former leader Nigel Farage.
Insiders told the Wall Street Journal that Carlson considered hosting his paywalled videos on Twitter but that the tech company failed to move quickly enough.
However, these insiders also said that TCN maintains an advertising deal with Twitter. One source added that Carlson may eventually distribute the content through Twitter or television streamers.
Neil Patel, a former White House adviser, is set to serve as TCN’s chief executive. Patel lived with Carlson in college, and he still works for The Daily Caller, an outlet that he founded with Carlson.
Longtime producer Justin Wells is reportedly still working with Carlson. Wells served as Carlson’s executive producer at Fox News, and he left Fox News in April alongside Carlson.
Carlson is expected to provide more details Monday afternoon during an appearance on The Megyn Kelly Show. He’s set to appear on the SiriusXM program sometime between 12 and 2.
“News coverage in the West has become a tool of repression and control. Reporters no longer reveal essential information to the public; they work to hide it,” TCN’s mission statement says.
“Democracy can’t function in a society like this. Voters can’t know what they’re voting for. People do understand they’re being manipulated, and they resent it. The population becomes angry and paranoid. Things fall apart. There’s only one solution to a propaganda spiral like the one we’re living through, and it’s telling the truth.”
After posting the videos on his website, Carlson is reportedly planning to release the audio tracks as episodes of The Tucker Carlson Podcast.
The website has also teased some feature-length films “coming this spring.”
