Tom Homan, President-elect Donald Trump’s newly appointed border czar, outlined his bombshell plans Wednesday for the largest deportation operation in U.S. history — and Tucker Carlson posted the one hour, unedited interview that shows just how drastically things are set to change under the new Trump administration.
In a bombshell move, Homan is calling on both the Biden administration and the incoming Trump administration to begin funding his operations now — not later.
The former Immigration and Customs Enforcement director said ICE officers will begin operations immediately when Trump takes office. The sooner Congress authorizes the budget they need, the sooner the mass deportations will begin.
In his appearance on Tucker Carlson’s X platform show Wednesday, Homan claimed the current border situation amounts to “at least 10.5 million illegal migrants encountered with over two million having gotten away.”
“That’s by design, that’s not mismanagement,” Homan said, who called Joe Biden the first president to “unsecure” the border.
The deportation plan would utilize military aircraft for transportation, though military personnel would not participate in arrests.
Trump has threatened to cease doing business with foreign countries that refuse to accept their deported citizens back.
“We want to arrest as many people as we can who are in the country illegally,” Homan said, noting he doesn’t have a specific target number.
The goal is simply “all.”
The operation would first target illegal immigrants who have committed crimes, followed by reviewing the status of asylum seekers and those who entered under humanitarian parole during the Biden administration to see which abused the system, lied, have committed crimes, or failed to obey the terms of their release.
“My goal is to enforce the law, but if you put yourself in that position, it may happen,” Homan said regarding family separations. “But there’s no plan in this administration right now to separate families.”
Trump announced Homan’s appointment on Truth Social following his election victory: “I am pleased to announce that the Former ICE Director, and stalwart on Border Control, Tom Homan, will be joining the Trump Administration, in charge of our Nation’s Borders.”
The plan includes reviving the “remain in Mexico” program for asylum applications and investigating the role of non-governmental organizations in migration patterns.
“We know exactly who we’re going to arrest,” Homan said. “We know most likely where we’re going to find them. We know a lot about them because of investigative case files. So it’s not a sweep, it’s not an uncontrolled operation. It’s a very targeted operation.”
Homan is requesting 100,000 beds and an estimated $86 billion in funding to begin on Inauguration Day, and is calling on Congress to act now.
“We need Congress to give us some money to get this done,” Homan told CNN’s Kaitlan Collins on “The Source.” “I don’t know how many resources I have, I don’t know how much money I want to have to buy beds, I don’t know how much money I want to have to buy transportation contracts.”
“ICE offices across the county will be out on the streets” on day one, Homan told CNN.
