Former Fox News star Tucker Carlson has a pending job offer at one of Fox News’ biggest rivals, according to a new report.
And the potential deal isn’t a smalltime offer. Newsmax, a conservative news outlet, is pulling out all the stops to woo Carlson, including an offer to let him dictate programming to the entire channel, not just his potential show.
That would allow Carlson to have control over what leads into and out of his nightly show.

Newsmax “hasn’t formally offered Tucker a job — he can’t have formal discussions due to his current Fox News contract” but “network execs have made it clear to people around him, they would basically give him a big say in rebranding their channel.”
While it’s a generous offer, it’s not the only interest Carlson has received from Fox News’ cable rivals.
Startup news channel NewsNation is reportedly interested in bringing Carlson to its network as well.
NewsNation recently expanded to 24-hour programming, so Carlson wouldn’t need to replace a current anchor. The move would be “a supplemental one, where they’d simply be expanding their talent and creating new shows for the air,” TMZ reported.
But don’t expect a resolution anytime soon.
Carlson is still under contract with Fox News. After being removed from his top-rated primetime show, Carlson retained a high-powered entertainment lawyer to negotiate a contract buyout with Fox News.

Until that contract issue is resolved, Carlson will not be able to negotiate directly with rivals.
“We have not spoken with Tucker Carlson but Newsmax is always open to a conversation with incredible talent, including Tucker,” Newsmax said in recent a statement.
