The mainstream media is obsessing over recent reports that President Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner is “under scrutiny” by the FBI – repeatedly exaggerating the allegations and ignoring the truth.
Supporters of notorious emailer of classified information Hillary Clinton now have the audacity to suggest Kushner’s security clearance be revoked based on rumors of proposed secret back-channel communications with Russia.
But they’re ignoring one major thing: Back-channel communication between nations is not unprecedented, and it does not suggest sinister plots between Russian and the U.S. government.
John F. Kennedy’s administration allegedly had a back-channel communication with Russia, and there are claims that it aided in the avoidance of war.
Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly said he didn’t know if the news reports were true but described back-channel communications as a “good thing.” He was echoing the sentiment of National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster, who declined to address the contents of Kushner’s December meeting with the Russian diplomat to reporters in Sicily over the weekend and suggested that back-channel communications were commonplace and not concerning.
“It’s both normal, in my opinion, and acceptable,” Kelly said. “Any way that you can communicate with people, particularly organizations that are maybe not particularly friendly to us is a good thing.”
“I don’t see the big deal,” he added.
Kushner’s involvement in the proposed back channel was first reported by The Washington Post, citing anonymous U.S. officials who were briefed on intelligence reports on intercepted Russian communications.
The media is giving more weight to the statements from “anonymous sources” rather than named U.S. officials directly involved.
And Trump isn’t having it.
Having returned from a nine-day overseas trip, he immediately railed against administration leaks, calling them “fabricated lies,” in a flurry of tweets.
He warned supporters against mindless news consumption, tweeting:
….it is very possible that those sources don't exist but are made up by fake news writers. #FakeNews is the enemy!

Trump acknowledged the absurdity of the mainstream media’s claims Tuesday, tweeting:
Russian officials must be laughing at the U.S. & how a lame excuse for why the Dems lost the election has taken over the Fake News.

This is just further examples of the mainstream media attacking Trump and his administration at any chance they get – without any attempt at investigating the truth.
