Donald Trump Jr. spent months debating whether to get married during the current U.S.-Iranian conflict.
He just stopped wrestling with the decision and is heading towards the alter.
The New York Post confirmed Monday that Trump Jr. and fiancee, Bettina Anderson, will tie the knot over Memorial Day weekend in an intimate ceremony on a private island in the Bahamas.
It is a dramatic departure from the lavish White House wedding the couple had originally dreamed of, but a wedding nonetheless.
The decision came after months of back-and-forth that we reported on in April, the couple decided their nuptials should be put on hold as the Iran war dragged on.
“They’re very aware that a lavish wedding at the White House while people are dying wouldn’t be well-received,” an insider said at the time. “Especially after the state dinner for King Charles — it would be too much pomp and circumstance.”
With Iranian peace negotiations unwilling to budge to meet American demands, Trump Jr. and Anderson decided the wait was over.
The Bahamas ceremony will be small and intimate, a stark contrast to the couple’s original vision of a grand White House wedding.
The couple got engaged at Camp David in December. Trump, Jr.’s fiancee held a 100-guest “Enchanted Garden” bridal shower at Mar-a-Lago in April. Since then, the two have been navigating one of Washington’s most-watched romances in public.
Trump Jr., 47, and Anderson, 39, have been a couple since August 2024, going public at the Republican National Convention where President Donald Trump was chosen as the party’s presidential candidate. Their engagement was announced by President Trump himself at a White House holiday party in December.
Anderson is a Palm Beach socialite, philanthropist, and model. This will be her first marriage and Trump Jr.’s second, following his 2005-2018 marriage to Vanessa Trump.
