Disgraced former FBI Director James Comey attacked President Donald Trump as unethical and “untethered to truth” in a sharply critical new book to be released next week. And in his normal style, Trump quickly fired back.
Trump called Comey “a weak and untruthful slimeball” after the first explosive excerpts were released from Comey’s cash-grab book.
“James Comey is a proven LEAKER & LIAR. Virtually everyone in Washington thought he should be fired for the terrible job he did-until he was, in fact, fired,” Trump tweeted Friday morning.
Arguing that Comey deserves to be prosecuted for leaking classified information, Trump continued, “He leaked CLASSIFIED information, for which he should be prosecuted. He lied to Congress under OATH. He is a weak and untruthful slime ball who was, as time has proven, a terrible Director of the FBI.”

….untruthful slime ball who was, as time has proven, a terrible Director of the FBI. His handling of the Crooked Hillary Clinton case, and the events surrounding it, will go down as one of the worst “botch jobs” of history. It was my great honor to fire James Comey!

In June, Comey testified that he helped leak a memo about conversation with Trump to The New York Times, but denied it contained classified information.
In the forthcoming book titled “A Higher Loyalty”, Comey compares Trump to a mafia boss and calls his leadership of the country “ego driven and about personal loyalty.”
The president was not the only one angered by Comey’s unflattering claims about Trump, other Republicans stepped in to defend the commander-in-chief.
“One of the few areas of true bipartisan consensus in Washington is Comey has no credibility,” tweeted White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

“Comey will try to peddle his story in an upcoming book tour, but he has no one but himself to blame for his complete lack of credibility,” the Republican National Committee tweeted.

White House counselor Kellyanne Conway also slammed the Former FBI director telling reporters, “We find Mr. Comey has a revisionist view of history and seems like a disgruntlement ex-employee.”
The Republican National Committee has already launched as campaign against Comey to prove he’s a liar before his memoir hits the shelves, according to Fox News.
The RNC plans to fact check “Lyin’ Comey” using “rapid response” to highlight any “misstatements” or “contradictions” in the book.
Critics say Comey’s unethical and disrespectful new book does not stand a chance against Trump or his allies, and that the Trump administration does not back down from leakers or liars.
