The PGA Tour is officially heading back to President Donald Trump’s golf course for the first time in a decade.
The Tour plans to hold a new tournament at Trump National Doral in Miami during the week of April 27 to May 3, 2026.
The decision marks a major shift for the PGA Tour, which moved events away from Trump-owned properties in recent years. Trump National Doral hosted PGA Tour events for more than 50 years, but it was removed from the schedule in 2016. The last event held there was the WGC-Cadillac Championship, which was relocated to Mexico City.
Sports Illustrated confirmed the 2026 return to Doral.
LIV Golf, the Saudi-backed rival league to the PGA Tour, held events at Doral from 2022 through 2024. However, the course does not appear on LIV’s 2026 schedule, clearing the way for the PGA Tour to return.
Since retaking office, Trump has played a leading role in the ongoing efforts to bring the PGA Tour and LIV Golf together. In February, he hosted a meeting at Mar-a-Lago with PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan, Tiger Woods, board member Adam Scott, and Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) governor Yasir Al-Rumayyan.
“President Trump was engaged and listened carefully. He didn’t push any agenda and seemed genuinely interested in seeing professional golf succeed. I think it was a positive meeting,” Scott said of the meeting.
The PGA Tour has not officially announced the Doral event, but the calendar week between the Zurich Classic in New Orleans and the new Truist Championship in Charlotte, North Carolina is currently open. Sources say that is the target week for the Doral tournament.
Trump National Doral, and especially its famous “Blue Monster” course, has long been a favorite among both professionals and fans. The course underwent renovations after Trump acquired it in 2012.
