Donald Trump may have found the person that will guarantee he’s re-elected president in 2020: Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y.
“AOC,” the darling of the liberal media, has released the most serious piece of legislation of her career – and it has people laughing their heads off at her!
The Green New Deal was introduced by Cortez and Massachusetts Senator Ed Markey last week… and the details are so radical, you have to laugh to keep from crying.
According to an official FAQ posted on her website, the Green New Deal would eliminate all fossil fuels within 10 years.
That means trashing anything that uses gasoline, heating oil, or the internal combustion engine that’s in every car in America.
It would try to replace all airplane flights with train rides.
Messing with your cars is not enough—they want to gut your house, garage, and office building, too. Democrats plan on “upgrading virtually every home and building” in America for “energy efficiency.”
Then they’ll “plant lots of trees” to “capture” carbon emissions…even though trees don’t cover.
And there are a few giveaways tucked inside for their far-Left socialist base—like giving every single American a guaranteed job for life, with vacation time and retirement benefits.
And free national healthcare.
And free college classes…for life.
They’ll give “healthy food” to everyone in the country.
But wait… there’s more!
They’ll provide “economic security to all who are unable or unwilling to work.”
If you’re too lazy or too high to get a job, the Democrats have got your back.
The Green New Deal promised to do all this and more in just 10 years, but it admitted that cow flatulence is a huge course of carbon emissions—and “we aren’t sure that we’ll be able to fully get rid of farting cows and airplanes that fast.”
The socialist congresswoman from New York City meant this to be her big breakout moment, but she botched it so badly that she has both people in both parties laughing at her, not with her.
“By the end of the Green New Deal resolution (and accompanying fact sheet) I was laughing so hard I nearly cried,” wrote Kim Strassel, a reporter with the Wall Street Journal.
“If a bunch of GOPers plotted to forge a fake Democratic bill showing how bonkers the party is, they could not have done a better job,” she said. “It is beautiful.”

Republican congressmen have called AOC’s plan a “socialist manifesto” and something out of the “Twilight Zone.”
But the Green New Deal drew chuckles and scorn from the most liberal Democrats in Congress.
When Hawaii Sen. Mazie Hirono heard that the plan would abolish air travel, she said, “That would be pretty hard for Hawaii.”
…And then, she laughed, loudly.
Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, a liberal environmentalist, said the plan was nothing but nonsense and “pie in the sky.”
Even House Speaker Nancy Pelosi dissed AOC over and over again about the Green New Deal.
First, Pelosi wrote off the plan as “the Green Dream, or whatever they call it. Nobody knows what it is, but they’re for it, right?”
Then she appointed a House committee on the Green New Deal—and didn’t name Cortez to it.
But the Democrats are in a bind: The proposals may be totally unrealistic, but their base expects their presidential candidates to back the deal 100%—and several leading 2020 contenders have already signed on.
“The Green New Deal has emerged as a key litmus test for prospective 2020 presidential candidates,” The Hill reported.
So far Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren, Beto O’Rourke, Cory Booker, Amy Klobuchar, Kirsten Gillibrand, Julian Castro, and Tulsi Gabbard have all thrown their support behind the radical plan.
“Every Republican in the country should get on their hands and knees and thank Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez,” said a former White House staffer.
GOP Senators are rubbing their hands together in glee over the plan’s outrageous aims and claims.
“Let’s vote on the Green New Deal!” tweeted Sen. Lindsey Graham on Friday.

And the Green New Deal has at least one HUGE fan – President Donald Trump.
He thinks if Americans see how crazy the Democrats’ proposals are, he’ll get re-elected for sure.
“I think it is very important for the Democrats to press forward with their Green New Deal,” Trump joked on Saturday.
He sarcastically tweeted that Democrats’ plan to “permanently eliminate all Planes, Cars, Cows, Oil, Gas & the Military – even if no other country would do the same” sounded just “brilliant!”

The rollout went so badly that Cortez’s office pulled the document off its website and pretended the whole thing was a Republican plot to make them look bad!

Just remember—if the Democrats win the White House in two years, our laughter may turn to tears.
