President Donald Trump’s administration has begun pressuring the Department of Justice to investigate former FBI Director James Comey — and they’re not shy about it!
During a press conference Monday, White House Spokesperson Sarah Huckabee Sanders said that Comey’s actions as FBI director “were improper and likely could have been illegal.”
When asked if Trump wanted the DoJ to investigate Comey, the fiery Sanders told reporters that it’s “something they should certainly look at.”
Comey “politicized an investigation by signaling he would exonerate Hillary Clinton before he ever interviewed her or other key witnesses,” Sanders said.
According to Fox News, “That’s in reference to new allegations Comey drafted an ‘exoneration statement’ for Clinton weeks before interviewing her during the investigation into her email server.”
"]Hillary Will Finally Pay For Her Crimes[/thn_text_ad]Trump’s decision to fire Comey was justified given his conduct after the decision to not prosecute Hillary, she said. Sanders also accused the former FBI director of “giving false testimony” and ”leaking privileged information to journalists.”
“I think if there’s ever a moment where we feel someone’s broken the law, particularly if they’re the head of the FBI, then I think that’s something [that should] certainly be looked at,” Sanders said.
