Someone has turned to their guns, possibly to try to keep the abortion debate open.
Ever since someone at the Supreme Court leaked a draft opinion that justices plan to overturn Roe v. Wade, riots have roiled the country—especially Virginia and Maryland, where some of the pro-life justices live.
Protesters have reportedly gathered at the home of Justices Samuel Alito, Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett, in a desperate attempt to keep abortion legal.
Now, someone has turned to violence.
Police are baffled and continue to investigate a shooting that took place at the offices of the newly inaugurated Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares, a pro-life Republican.
Officers responded to a call from the Barbara Johns Building at 7:13 p.m. Monday evening, where they found “a small round hole near the top of a window,” according to one account.
Police say the hole appeared after “a single round from a firearm was shot into a window of the Barbara Johns Building” in Richmond, Virginia.
Chief Deputy Attorney General Chuck Slemp said a housekeeper found a bullet inside the AG’s offices. The bullet had been fired through a window on the sixth floor.
The sixth floor is reportedly where Miyares’ personal offices are located, according to WSET.
“I guess my building forgot to duck,” Miyares joked on Fox & Friends First Thursday morning.
State Capitol Police are currently investigating, and they say they have found little evidence of either the shooter’s identity or the shooter’s motives.
“There is no indication that this incident was targeted at the OAG [Office of the Attorney General] specifically or any individual employee,” Slemp told the office in an email obtained by the Washington Examiner.
But it’s important to note that the shooting happened just days after Miyares denounced the protests, especially those aimed at civilians inside Christian churches.
“Some on the extreme left have responded to this week’s reprehensible leak of a draft Supreme Court opinion by calling for pro-abortion protests inside and outside of Catholic parishes this Sunday,” said Miyares. “No one has the right to interfere with the fundamental and natural right of all Virginians to practice their religion in peace.”
“I will not hesitate to bring suit to protect the religious freedom of the citizens of this Commonwealth,” he promised.
“I deeply respect the First Amendment rights of speech and assembly,” he wrote on Twitter late last week. “But no one has the right to interfere with the fundamental and natural right of all Virginians to practice their religion in peace.”

The shooting at Miyares’ offices also happened at the same time someone fire-bombed the offices of a pro-life group in liberal Madison, Wisconsin.
Police say someone threw what appears to be a Molotov cocktail at the offices of Wisconsin Family Action, a pro-life group.
Two Molotov cocktails were reportedly found on the premises, as well as graffiti that said, “If abortions aren’t safe then you aren’t either” on the propert.
But you wouldn’t know that from the media coverage.
“A fire broke out Sunday at the office of an anti-abortion group,” Politico reported. “Fire breaks out at Wisconsin anti-abortion group office,” said The Hill.
Yawn!
Imagine if Republicans protested outside the homes of Justice Sonia Sotomayor and incoming Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson. Imagine if conservative activists had firebombed the headquarters of Black Lives Matter or shot up the office of any Democratic politician anywhere in the country.
Think the media coverage would be so passive? Of course not!
The Democrats — and the media — would be crusading for investigations, arrests, prosecutions, new fencing and new security details to keep people out. They’d be howling to “hold accountable” any politician who supported the protests—the same way Jen Psaki equivocated about the protests outside the justices’ homes.
Through it all, the Biden administration has said the real threat comes from conservatives.
“The Left is setting crisis pregnancy centers on fire, forming mobs outside the houses of Supreme Court justices, and firing at the office buildings of elected officials—but it’s the Right that’s the problem. That’s what the liberal media says,” columnist Matthew Vespa wrote at Townhall.com.
That’s what the liberal media always say—even when the evidence comes crashing through their windows.
