Over the weekend, President Joe Biden vowed to “shut down the border right now and fix it quickly,” pending congressional approval for the Senate’s border bill.
Some on the far Left slammed Biden for his about-face on this issue. MSNBC host Joy Reid even cursed at Biden on a hot mic.
Reid played a clip of Biden urging Congress to act. Laughing, Reid exclaimed off-screen, “Starting another f***ing war!”
The MSNBC host may have been referring to Biden’s urging the U.S. to “respond” after reports about an Iran-back milita murdering three U.S. troops in Jordan.
After returning to the screen, Reid reportedly slammed former President Donald Trump for criticizing the border deal, and she apologized afterward for her “behind-the-scenes” chatter.
“I just want to apologize very quickly,” Reid said at the end of her broadcast, before introducing Inside with Jen Psaki.
“I was chatting during a clip that was playing, and you know we try to keep this show very PG-13. So I just want to apologize to anyone who was listening to my behind-the-scenes chatter. We deeply, deeply apologize for that, because you know it’s PG-13 around here.”
Viewers slammed Reid for her messiness. Some recalled the Reid’s old scandal involving comments deemed insensitive to gay people.
At the time, Reid mocked Florida Gov. Charlie Crist, who is heterosexual.
“Miss Charlie, Miss Charlie. Stop pretending, brother. It’s okay that you don’t go for the ladies,” Reid wrote in 2007, according to a review by Mediaite. “I can just see poor Charlie on the honeymoon, ogling the male waiters and thinking to himself, ‘god, do I actually have to see her naked'”
Reid, in 2018, claimed to have been hacked. In a statement to Mediaite, she described the insensitive remarks as “manipulated material from my now-defunct blog.” Reid made the remarks amid MSNBC’s selective fixation on Russian hacking.
After Reid’s latest hot mic, one viewer joked, “I guess time traveling hackers made Joy Reid drop the F bomb.”
