Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., chairs the House Oversight Committee, the legislative body investigating Hunter Biden’s finances.
Comer has been doing the rounds on cable news to publicize his findings, even appearing on CNN earlier this month.
However, he won’t be coming to Fox & Friends anymore because of host Steve Doocy.
On Tuesday, Comer told Newsmax’s Eric Bolling about his rift with Doocy.
Fox & Friends co-host Steve Doocy said in a clip aired on Newsmax, “The Republicans at this point don’t have– they have a lot of ledgers and spreadsheets, but they have not connected the dots. They’ve connected the dots, the Department of Justice did on Hunter, but they have not shown where Joe Biden, you know, did anything illegally.”
Newsmax host Eric Bolling spoke to Comer on Tuesday, and he described Doocy’s remarks as dismissive. The Newsmax host said that the House Republicans needed to gather evidence before connecting “the dots.”
“Forget the Democrats like Dan Goldman who say there’s no evidence. My concern is when the media, especially the conservative media, starts siding with the Bidens. Listen to Steve Doocy over at Fox saying you don’t have evidence,” Bolling said. “School Doocy on how this works. The way to connect the dots is by gathering all the information, and then you connect them.”
Comer accepted Bolling’s invitation to “school Doocy,” and he admitted to avoiding Fox & Friends.
The Oversight Committee chair said —
Well I think we’ve done a pretty good job connecting the dots. We’ve traced two checks from influence peddling schemes going directly into Joe Biden’s pocket. We traced the facts that one of these checks that went to Joe Biden’s back pocket was a $40,000 check that came from China…
I’ve quit going on Fox & Friends because of Doocy, you know? I mean, he’s the one guy on Fox that’s been very critical of the investigation…
At the end of the day, he’s entitled to his opinion, but I don’t think the average viewer of Fox News agrees with Doocy one bit. The American people, even 40% of the Democrats are concerned that Joe Biden has violated the law with his family’s shady business. The American people expect somebody to investigate the president of the United States for public corruption, and thank God the Oversight Committee is.
The American people remain divided in their beliefs about President Biden’s complicity in his son’s dealings.
An AP-NORC poll in October showed that 35% of U.S. adults believe the president himself has done something illegal. An additional 33% say they think Joe Biden behaved unethically, but not illegally.
Only 30% say he did nothing wrong, according to the poll.
Roughly two-thirds of Republicans say they think Joe Biden is guilty of crimes pertaining to his son, but only 8% of Democrats and 38% of independents agree. About an additional third in each party say they think Joe Biden at least did something unethical.
More recently, the House has been pushing toward a Wednesday vote to formally authorize the impeachment inquiry. House Speaker Mike Johnson called it “the next necessary step.” He acknowledged “a lot of people who are frustrated this hasn’t moved faster.”
On Newsmax, Comer offered a preview of the next steps.
“At the end of the day, with any investigation. It concludes with depositions, and we certainly are going to give the president’s son an opportunity to tell us whether or not our dots are connected correctly. I believe they are,” Comer said. “It’s going to be hard to answer some of these questions about these massive wires.”
