Rep. Jeff Duncan, R-S.C., has described himself as “a strong advocate” for “traditional family values,” but his wife would say otherwise.
Melody Duncan, the congressman’s wife, filed for divorce Friday… and Melody has accused her husband of an ongoing affair with a D.C. insider.
In a publicly available court filing, Melody’s lawyers recount her descriptions of her husband’s hypocrisy.
“Defendant [the congressman] recently left the marriage and has admitted to Plaintiff that he has an ongoing sexual relationship with a woman named Liz Williams. Additionally, Defendant has admitted this adulterous relationship to many other people, including the parties’ sons and members of his staff,” Melody’s lawyers wrote.
Melody’s legal team also alleged an affair with “at least one other woman” besides Williams.
“Defendant is now residing with his paramour,” the lawyers wrote, referring to Williams. “The parties [in the divorce] have not lived together since August.”
Duncan himself has remained silent on the scandal and didn’t respond to the New York Post‘s request for comment Saturday.
However, he’s seen some past statements resurface… and come back to haunt him.
“As a life-long social conservative, I am a strong advocate for life and traditional family values,” the congressman has written on his website, under an attached image of the Bible. “The most basic component of our society is the family. Now more than ever, it is imperative that we protect the values that America was founded upon and have made our country great.”
Melody’s team then eviscerated her husband for his hypocrisy.
“Defendant has run for election, along with the support of his wife and sons, on a platform of family values… As recently as August 28, 2023, Defendant hosted a ‘Faith and Freedom BBQ’ where he spoke to the crowd, among other things, about his marriage to Plaintiff (calling her a supportive and loving wife),” the wife’s lawyers wrote.
“Upon information and belief, Defendant then left the next day and went directly to the home of his paramour, Liz Williams, in the Washington, D.C., area where Plaintiff is informed and believes he continues to reside.”
Melody requested possession of both houses maintained during the marriage… as well as spousal support payments for the rest of her life.
“Defendant should be required to be solely responsible for all costs associated with the former marital residence, including but not limited to, mortgage payments,” her lawyers said, before making similar demands for the second home.
She also asked for a restraining order, along with at least 60% of the assets amassed during the marriage.
Liberal media have been gloating over the Duncan family’s misfortunes.
“A tale as old as time is playing out yet again,” Insider remarked.
The couple has three children, all adults.
