It’s official — House Democrats are willing to say anything to protect freshman Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-M.N. — even attack Holocaust survivors and their families.
The latest in outlandish comments came from House Majority Whip James Clyburn, D-S.C., who defended Oman by mentioning that she has had a more painful experience than those that survived the Holocaust.
“I’m serious about that,” Clyburn said, as reported by The Hill. “There are people who tell me, ‘Well, my parents are Holocaust survivors.’ ‘My parents did this.’ It’s more personal with her. I’ve talked to her, and I can tell you she is living through a lot of pain.”
Now they’ve gone to the Holocaust as an excuse to justify Omar’s habit of anti-Semitic remarks. Apologizing simply won’t suffice. Now they’ve got to show how Omar is more of a victim than people who lived through an actual genocide.
Essentially what Clyburn is saying is that Omar’s pain is more special than thousands who live traumatized by the Nazi gas chambers and furnaces. That Omar’s violent upbringing — however violent — makes her more a victim, and her opinion more important.
And, therefore, that the feelings of families linked to Holocaust survivors aren’t as important.
It seems Holocaust survivors are now too privileged for the modern Democratic Party.
This sentiment comes from a party which claims President Donald Trump is a bigot?
It seems Omar’s election has become a crushing burden for House Democrats ever since she was sworn in.
And they’re going to all sorts of lengths to excuse her nasty behavior.
