New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo resigned Tuesday morning to cap off a stunning fall from grace.
Not long ago, almost every liberal pundit was praising him for his response to the coronavirus pandemic.
At some point, the warning signs about Cuomo became undeniable, but liberal pundits remained insufficiently skeptical.

While he was groping women, the mainstream media was fawning all over him — and we have the video they won’t share.
One pundit described Cuomo as being “out there, day after day after day, everything Trump isn’t: Honest, direct, brave.”
Another said, “Maybe Trump is just a little bit mad that Governor Cuomo has become a kind of acting president.” That doesn’t even make sense. Cuomo’s power has never extended beyond the borders of New York.
Chris Cuomo, the governor’s brother, even asked, “With all this adulation that you’re getting for doing your job, are you thinking about running for president?”
Joe Biden called Cuomo “the gold standard” when he went on the “Tonight Show” during his candidacy for president last year. Biden also tweeted Cuomo’s endorsement of him during the Democratic National Convention.
Cuomo was even given an Emmy Award for his morning briefings.
The conservative website The Daily Caller compiled these clips into a useful video. You can watch it below.

Many of these mainstream pundits changed their tune on Cuomo when the evidence became overwhelming. However, that doesn’t change the fact that they remained so uncritically overjoyed about Cuomo long after the warning signs appeared.
The warning signs started three years ago, and they only became worse during his rise to national fame.
In 2018, Cuomo found himself caught in a scandal when one of his longtime aides was convicted for soliciting more than $300,000 in bribes.
In May 2020, some observers began to question Cuomo’s public health policies as the death rate in nursing homes became higher in New York than in other, similar states. Cuomo ordered nursing homes — where the most vulnerable population in the pandemic were housed — to accept COVID-19 positive patients.
Then came the accusations of sexual harassment. Some of the alleged harassment dates back as far as 2007. Other alleged acts of harassment happened as recently as November 2020, during Cuomo’s time in the public eye.
