Comic actor Ewen MacIntosh has died Monday at the age of 50, according to a statement from his manager. He’d reportedly endured years of poor health and died in a care home, but the cause was not immediately known.
MacIntosh was known for his role as accountant Keith Bishop in the U.K.’s version of The Office, the predecessor to NBC’s long-running remake.
As “Big Keith,” the comedian starred alongside big names like Ricky Gervais and Martin Freeman. He became known for his monotone delivery and oblivious actions.
In one classic scene, he eats a scotch egg opposite Freedman’s character. In another, he appears visibly bored during an appraisal from his boss.
MacIntosh reunited with Gervais in the Netflix series After Life. For most of his later life, he worked as a character actor playing a waiter in 2015’s The Lobster and appearing in the British sitcom Miranda.

No one in the history of TV could ever make eating a scotch egg an iconic moment in Comedy History.
