Tesla is recalling its new Cybertruck pickup for the fourth time since it went on sale last November. This time, there are two separate issues affecting more than 11,000 trucks each.
The first problem is with the windshield wiper controls, which could stop working because it’s getting too much electricity. If the wipers fail, it can be hard for drivers to see, which could lead to accidents. Tesla says they don’t know of any crashes caused by this problem yet.
The second recall is with a trim piece along the truck bed that could come loose and fly off while driving, which could be dangerous for other drivers on the road. Tesla thinks this might be happening because the trim wasn’t attached properly at the factory.
To fix these problems, Tesla will replace the wiper motor and either replace or fix the trim piece. They’ll do this for free and will send letters to Cybertruck owners on August 18 to let them know about the recall.
The expensive Cybertruck, known for its unusual stainless steel body, has now been recalled four times in just a few months.
