Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas tangled horns with a Hollywood star Monday — trading barbs with Hellboy actor Ron Perlman.
The viral Twitter exchange led to a trade of insults and in the end, the two challenged each other back and forth to a wrestling match.
That’s right, a wrestling match.
The confrontation stemmed from an already ongoing spat between Perlman and Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., in which he called the young congressman ugly — second ugliest only to Rep. Jordan.
“You’re lucky for this guy Matt,” Perlman wrote. “If it weren’t for him you’d be the ugliest politician walking.”

But the spat took a turn when Cruz jumped into the mix.
He proposed that instead of hurling petty insults, Perlman wrestle Jordan for charity.
“Listen Hellboy,” Cruz wrote on Twitter, interjecting. “You talk good game when you’ve got Hollywood makeup & stuntmen. But I’ll bet $10k—to the nonpolitical charity of your choice—that you couldn’t last 5 min in the wrestling ring w/ @Jim_Jordan w/o getting pinned.”

“You up for it?” he added. “Or does your publicist say too risky?”
But Perlman instead challenged Cruz with colorful language, firing back with a proposal of his own.
“I tell you what teddy boy, since mentioning jim jordan and wrestling is… problematic, why don’t we say f*** him and just make it you & me. I’ll give 50k to Black Lives Matter and you can keep all the tax payer money you were thinking of spending,” Perlman replied.

But it still wasn’t over.
Cruz responded yet again, calling Perlman “soft” and implying that he was scared of Jordan.
“I get it, you’re rich. But, apparently, soft. You sure seem scared to wrestle Jordan (whom you keep insulting).”

Whether or not an actual charity match would take place remains to be seen.
