A terrifying medical emergency unfolded at Madison Square Garden Monday night when comedian Tracy Morgan violently vomited and suffered a nosebleed while courtside at the New York Knicks basketball game.
The 56-year-old SNL alum and “30 Rock” star became severely ill during the third quarter of New York’s matchup against the Miami Heat, causing a lengthy delay as medical staff rushed to his aid.
Disturbing footage showed Morgan being wheeled away from his premium courtside seat while holding a towel to his face. According to eyewitnesses, the comedian “could barely stand up” and needed significant assistance to get into the wheelchair.

The game came to a standstill for several minutes while arena staff cleaned up the vomit before play could resume. Morgan’s courtside seat — positioned right next to MSG Networks broadcasters Kenny Albert and Walter Clyde Frazier — had to be sanitized before the action could continue.
The exact cause of Morgan’s sudden illness remains unknown, the comedian has battled serious health problems for years. He is diabetic and required a kidney transplant in 2010 following struggles with alcohol. In 2014, Morgan barely survived a catastrophic highway crash that left him in a coma. The crash killed his friend and longtime collaborator Jimmy Mack.
An MSG spokesperson released a brief statement following the incident: “We hope Tracy feels better soon and look forward to seeing him back courtside.”
Morgan, a Bronx native, has been a fiercely loyal Knicks supporter since attending his first game in 1981.
“I’m not a fair-weather fan. I’m with the good, bad and ugly,” Morgan told The New York Post in a 2023 interview. “I’m always going to be a fan. I’m a New Yorker. I’m a New York fan.”
After securing a 116-95 victory over the Heat, Knicks star Josh Hart expressed concern for the team’s celebrity superfan.
“We hope everything is good with Tracy Morgan, avid lifetime Knicks fan, so prayers go out to him and his health and safety,” Hart said in postgame comments.
Several New York celebrities were in attendance Monday night, including Yankees star slugger Aaron Judge, who was spotted watching the game before Morgan’s medical emergency disrupted the evening.
No official update on Morgan’s condition has been released as of Tuesday morning.
