Michael Avenatti, the lawyer who famously represented and defrauded former adult film star Stormy Daniels, was released from prison yesterday.
But the disgraced lawyer is not a free man — yet.
Avenatti was convicted of numerous crimes, including stealing nearly $300,000 from Daniels and attempting to extort Nike for over $20 million as part of an elaborate extortion scheme.
A judge also sentenced Avenatti in December 2022 to 14 years behind bars for stealing from four of his own clients, one of whom was a paraplegic.
According to TMZ, He was released from prison yesterday after serving approximately 4 years of his original 11-year and three-month sentence and moved to a halfway house.

Avenatti may be out of federal jail, but legally, he’s not a free man.
In addition to staying at a halfway house, Avenatti faces mandatory participation in mental health treatment, according to TMZ.
TMZ reported that Avenatti must also keep his distance from controlled substances.
A Bureau of Prisons (BOP) official told Fox News he was moved to community confinement under the management of the BOP Long Beach Residential Reentry Management Office.
