Late-night host Stephen Colbert was caught in a nasty lie regarding President Donald Trump’s response to Hurricane Harvey — and Colbert was ripped apart by the internet for the false claim.

In his first show back from a two-week vacation, Colbert left the facts on the beach.

During his Tuesday night introduction, Colbert read from an outdated Politico article from Aug. 29, as The Hill first reported.

“It was a presidential trip to a deluged state where the president didn’t meet a single storm victim, see an inch of rain, or get near a flooded street,” Colbert claimed.

Unfortunately for Colbert, these photos show a different story —

Users on social media also responded, and they weren’t taking prisoners —

Ouch. No wonder no one watches his show.

You can watch the segment below.

Warning: It’s not very funny. —
