Top CNN star SLAMMED after mocking rape victim

CNN prime time host Chris Cuomo, desperate for viewers, just proved he’ll say anything for a ratings bump.

In the past, the anti-Trump anchor has gotten away with mocking President Donald Trump, conservatives, and the GOP.

But he hit rock bottom Wednesday — making fun of a woman that was violently raped in the past for feeling unsafe.

Kim Corben appeared on a promotional video for the National Rifle Association (NRA), where she tells her sad story.

“I woke up in the middle of the night, suffocating,” she said. “‘Shut up,’ he said. ‘Don’t say a word.’ For the next two hours, I knew I was going to die.”

“Now I’m a mother of two, and if a predator or anyone else tries to harm me or my family, they have to come through my firearm first,” Corben vowed.

Cuomo responded by mocking Corben’s pain: “Only in America.”

In CNN’s America, it seems anything goes… as long as it gets ratings.

Even if it means mocking a woman who was violently raped.

Cuomo quickly walked back his comments on social media, and said he was criticizing gun rights advocates, not rape victims —

1/2 You are right. No offense intended. Too short on twitter. “Only in America” are we still debating the legitimate right to protect oneself like you and many others vs sensible way to keep guns from wrong people. Only here can we not address the issues around school shootings https://t.co/74s8RxcHgo

But Cuomo never responded directly to Corben.

Never even apologized to her.

She called Cuomo out herself.

Hi @ChrisCuomo. Looks like you forgot to tag me. Care to chat about this?

And he never answered her.

The social media backlash was fierce — and even Democrats piled on.

“This dem has you back ma’am,” on Twitter user posted.

Good point. I do not support the NRA but most men have no idea how scary it is to be in an uncontrollable situation. I’d rather be able to protect myself than any other alternative. This dem, has your back ma’am.
