Lawyers for Tony Podesta — brother of Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager John Podesta — sent Fox News star Tucker Carlson a scathing warning: Stop talking about our client, or else.
Carlson called it a clear threat to his reporting and refused to back down on Monday’s show.

He called out the lawyers and defended his right to report on the controversial links between Podesta and Russian collusion in the 2016 president election.
Carlson called the cease and desist letter, which included a demand from Podesta’s lawyer that the Fox News host delete and retract all his previous reporting, an attempt to “use fear to control press coverage.”
“Podesta isn’t just complaining about us… he’s threatening us,” Carlson said.
Carlson went off on Podesta’s “amusing” attempts to silence him.

“Podesta’s lawyer wasn’t trying to inform us of anything, but to threaten us, to shut down our reporting on his client. One lawyer we talked to earlier today said the Podesta people have used this tactic with others before, it’s common. It’s an effort to use fear to control press coverage,” Carlson said.
“We’re not intimidated, we have ample evidence from Mueller’s indictment and from a number of confidential sources to paint a pretty clear picture of exactly what the Podesta Group was doing for years here in Washington,” the Fox News host continued. “We’ll let the facts speak for themselves, and we’re confident the Mueller investigation will be revealing a lot more about his lobbying practices in the near future.”
Tony Podesta resigned from the lobbying group he founded, The Podesta Group, after it was revealed he was being investigated by Special Counsel Robert Mueller for his suspected links to Russian interference in the United States election.

Last week, Carlson went so far as to say Podesta was in the “crosshairs” of investigators.
Podesta, it seems, didn’t like that.
