The cloud of ethical allegations overshadowing one Democrat has gotten so thick that even his fellow Democrats have begun to turn on him — and that was before shocking new evidence tied the senator to an unsolved armed robbery.
Now, another member of the Democratic Party is trolling him…saying he’s even worse than one of the most scandalous Republicans in recent memory.
The senator in the middle of the storm is Bob Menendez, D-N.J., who has been caught with sacks of cash and gold bars that betoken his bribery, officials say.
The authorities have accused the former chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee — and his wife, Nadine — of being on the take from Egypt. During that time, the Menendez family allegedly got away with a Mercedes Benz, $566,000 cash, and 13 gold bars…and there’s disturbing new evidence about the gold.
The gold bars had been reported stolen from a man named Fred Daibes in 2013.
The cops later recovered the pilfered gold and returned it to Daibes… but then cop found the same gold bars, with the same serial numbers, in Menendez’s home during a raid last June.
That proves the gold bars came from Daibes, who’s been accused of bribing the head of the Menendez clan, authorities said.
Although the power couple entered a “not guilty” plea, the senator from Menendez’s neighboring state has called on him to resign… in possibly the most trolling way possible.
Senator John Fetterman, D-Penn., recorded a video from recently expelled Congressman George Santos, R-N.Y., addressed to Bob Menendez.
“I thought my ethically-challenged colleague @BobMenendezNJ could use some encouragement given his substantial legal problems,” wrote the senator. “So, I approached a seasoned expert on the matter to give ‘Bobby from Jersey’ some advice.”
Fetterman paid Santos $343 on the website Cameo, which lets people pay celebrities to record personalized video messages for people of their choice. “Hey Bobby!” Santos began his surreal remarks to the sitting senator from New Jersey.
“You make them put up or shut up. You stand your ground, sir, and don’t get bogged down by all the haters out there,” said the former congressman. “Stay strong. Merry Christmas!”

That just builds on Fetterman’s consistent remarks that Menendez must leave the Senatet. Fetterman made the case against Menendez on The View on the day the House of Representatives kicked out Santos for lying.
“I think the more important picture is that we have a colleague in the Senate that actually [has] done much more sinister and serious kinds of things: Senator Menendez,” said Fetterman last Friday.
“He needs to go. If you are going to expel Santos, how can you allow Menendez to remain in the Senate? Menendez is really a senator for Egypt, not New Jersey.”John Fetterman called for the expulsion of Bob Menendez from the U.S. Senate while appearing on The View today. pic.twitter.com/O577nWI9sn

Fetterman’s last line refers to allegations that Menendez was bribed, or blackmailed, by Egyptian intelligence…and did their bidding.
As a result, Menendez has become politically toxic to his party.
Fetterman is not experiencing a sudden outburst of integrity. After all, John Fetterman was institutionalized in a mental health facility for weeks during his term and cannot understand the words people speak.
John Fetterman is really a senator for Bedlam, not Pennsylvania.
He’s also a trolling spokesman for the Democratic establishment, which wants Menendez to step aside for two reasons: The Democrats want a more radical Democrat to take the place of the occasionally centrist Menendez.
More importantly, they don’t want Menendez clinging to his seat in the upcoming election — and costing them a seat in a deep-blue state like New Jersey. The last time New Jersey voters elected a Republican senator was Senator Clifford Chase in 1972.
(Two Republicans were later appointed to the Senate but lost their elections.)
Democrats have no intentions of letting Menendez break their 45-year winning streak. Things have gotten so bad that Senator Menendez’s son, Rep. Robert J. Menendez, D-N.J., appears set to endorse New Jersey’s first lady Tammy Murphy instead of his own father in the Democratic primaries.

Senator Menendez is no fool; he’s said publicly the Democratic Party’s sudden decision to turn on him is a form of “primitive hunting by which the predator chases its prey until it’s exhausted and then kills it.”
“This tactic won’t work,” said Senator Menendez. “I have done nothing wrong and once all the facts are presented will be found innocent.”
Senator Menendez also shot back at Fetterman on Monday, telling reporters at the Capitol that “Mr. Clickbait’s donors will appreciate him using campaign funds to enrich George Santos.”
But Fetterman’s donors will probably look the other way at him doing most anything—at least, until he becomes a liability.
But Fetterman and Santos’ video prove: Democrats think Bob Menendez reached that point a long time ago.
