Fox News star Sean Hannity got an unlikely endorsement on Thursday — notoriously liberal Late Night host Jimmy Kimmel, someone who he’s publicly feuded with in the past.
Kimmel shared a clip of Hannity’s show where the Fox News star admonishes young partygoers in the Ozark for not following health guidelines. Kimmel included the quip, “I never thought I’d say this, but listen to @SeanHannity.”
During the segment, Hannity urged younger viewers to maintain social distancing, avoid large gatherings, and to follow instructions from the White House to help slow the spread of the deadly coronavirus.
“Lake of the Ozarks, packed with partygoers this holiday weekend,” Hannity said during the segment, showing video from Memorial Day where young people partied carefreely. “Look, I understand these are young people and experts keep saying over and over that they’re at a much lower risk.”
“There’s no mask-wearing here that I’m seeing. at least not much at all. I see no social distancing,” he said. “But if they get the virus and get in contact with older or more vulnerable Americans, that could be a disaster for others.”
“That’s why in this short period of time, and it’s only temporary… If you can’t social distance, please wear a mask,” Hannity said. “Do it for your mom. Your dad. Your grandma. Your grandpa.”
Mediate pointed out that this endorsement isn’t a small gesture for Kimmel.
Hannity and Kimmel engaged in “a dramatic feud in 2018 when Kimmel mocked First Lady Melania Trump’s accent, prompting Hannity to compare him to Harvey Weinstein, later calling him a ‘sick twisted creepy perverted weirdo’ who ‘kissed Obama’s ass.’ Kimmel tweeted a disturbing picture of Hannity and a clown and called him a ‘lunatic’ who would ‘say anything.'”
Kimmel later apologized for the feud, and Hannity offered Kimmel an open invitation to his show with “no name-calling.”
