Fox News star Sean Hannity has an urgent message for fans: Get the COVID-19 vaccine.
The message, broadcast on his popular cable news show on Monday, was also championed by former President Donald Trump in a message to supporters earlier that day.
In a shot at President Joe Biden, Trump praised his administration’s work getting the vaccine out to the public, while he also condemned Biden’s administration’s mishandling of the vaccine rollout.
In his statement, Trump said people are hesitating to get the vaccine “because they don’t trust his Administration” or the mainstream media.
Hannity followed that up and tried to clarify his stance. The Fox News star has already been inoculated from coronavirus
“I can’t say it enough. Enough people have died,” Hannity told viewers. “We don’t need any more deaths.”
He urged viewers to do research and talk to their personal doctors they trust “based on your unique medical history, your current medical condition.”
“You and your doctor [should] make a very important decision about your safety,” Hannity said. “Take it seriously. You also have a right to medical privacy, doctor-patient confidentiality. And it absolutely makes sense for many Americans to get vaccinated.”
“I believe in science, and I believe in the science of vaccination,” he told viewers.
I have been saying this repeatedly on radio and TV exactly the same way for some time. Like I supported masks early on. What I won’t do is tell people what to do as I am NOT a Dr and I believe this decision must be made based on science, research, medical history…. https://t.co/BjNwlrq1wf
