If the rumor mill behind the scenes in New York City is to be believed, Fox News is about to fire one of its top stars.
A controversial segment from former “60 Minutes” correspondent Lara Logan on “Fox News Primetime” in late November — where the South African-born journalist compared Dr. Anthony Fauci to Nazi war criminal Josef Mengele — caused a significant backlash.
At the time, she said —
There’s no justification for putting people out of their jobs or forcing mandates for a disease that’s ultimately very treatable, it’s cheap to treat, medicines are available all over the world, and it has death rates that compare very much to seasonal flu.
In that moment, what you see on Dr. Fauci… this is what people say to me: that he doesn’t represent science to them. He represents Joseph Mengele. Dr. Josef Mengele, the Nazi doctor who did experiments on Jews during the Second World War and in the concentration camps.
And I am talking about people all across the world are saying this, because the response from COVID, what it has done to countries everywhere, what it has done to civil liberties, the suicide rates, the poverty — it has obliterated economies. The level of suffering that has been created because of this disease is now being seen in the cold light of day, i.e., the truth.
United Talent Agency, Logan’s talent agent, confirmed Monday that they’d cut ties with Logan weeks ago.
They called her segment “highly offensive” and “unacceptable.”
Since the controversy, Logan has yet to be booked on Fox News. She had previously hosted a show on the network’s streaming platform, “Lara Logan Has No Agenda” but has not released a new episode since the incident.
When asked on social media if she was still hosting her show on Fox Nation, Logan confirmed that their business relationship had ended.
“I’m not on their payroll,” Logan said about her relationship with Fox News with a local news station. “So I, you know, I’m not in communication with them.”
Dr. Fauci had called for Logan to be removed from the network for comparing his work to one of the worst Nazi war criminals —
It’s an insult to all of the people who suffered and died under the Nazi regime in the concentration camps. I mean, it’s unconscionable what she said. How they can let her say that with no comment and no disciplinary action? I’m astounded by that!
Forget about the fact that she was being totally slanderous to me and, as usual, had no idea what she was talking about. Saying that it’s as benign as flu. When did influenza kill 770,000 Americans?
So not only is she being slanderous and disrespectful to so many people who were killed in the concentration camps by Dr. Mengele, but she absolutely has no idea what she’s talking about. She’s completely incorrect in everything she says.
