Robert F. Kennedy Jr., running as an independent candidate in the 2024 presidential race, has made a bold claim about his campaign’s reach heading into the election — one that will certainly impact the results of the race.
In a recent interview with Fox News anchor Neil Cavuto on “Your World with Neil Cavuto,” Kennedy said that his campaign has secured enough signatures to appear on the ballot in all 50 states, a major hurdle he’d been struggling to overcome.
“Right now we have enough signatures to be on all 50 states. We’ve handed most of them in, some of the states are not yet certified, but we’re going to be on the ballot in all 50 states for sure,” Kennedy told Cavuto.
According to a ballot access tracker from The Hill/Decision Desk HQ, Kennedy is currently confirmed to have ballot access in 15 states, including key swing states such as Michigan, Nevada, and North Carolina.
“A lotta the states, Neil, don’t certify until mid-August. So… we’ve turned in our signatures, the signatures have been accepted and they’re gonna be certified,” Kennedy told the Fox News host.
While RFK, Jr.’s campaign appears confident in their ballot access efforts, his current polling numbers suggest an uphill battle.
In an average of national polls, Kennedy trails far behind the major party nominees. The average shows Vice President Kamala Harris at 46.7 percent support, former President Donald Trump at 43.5 percent support, and Kennedy at just 3.4 percent support.
A recent Ipsos survey in seven swing states (Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Georgia, North Carolina, Arizona, and Nevada) found Kennedy polling at around 5%.
While still far from a winning position, it could potentially impact the razor-thin margins between Harris (42%) and Trump (40%) in these crucial states.
Kennedy’s longshot campaign has attracted attention from influential figures and celebrities.
Popular podcaster and comedian Joe Rogan recently expressed some support for Kennedy on his show, saying, “He’s the only one that makes sense to me. He’s the only one — he doesn’t attack people, he attacks actions and ideas, but he’s much more reasonable and intelligent.”
This endorsement prompted a response from Trump on Truth Social, suggesting possible backlash against Rogan: “It will be interesting to see how loudly Joe Rogan gets BOOED the next time he enters the UFC Ring??? MAGA2024.”
