Rep. Haley Stevens, D-M.I., announced plans yesterday to draft articles of impeachment against Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., according to multiple reports.
Stevens claimed that Kennedy has violated his oath of office and was “unfit to serve.”

“RFK Jr. is making our country less safe and making healthcare less affordable and accessible for Michiganders,” Stevens said in a statement.
“His contempt for science, the constant spreading of conspiracy theories, and his complete disregard for the thousands of research hours spent by America’s top doctors and experts is unprecedented, reckless, and dangerous.”
Health care chaos. Reckless cuts. Rising costs. Michiganders and families across the country are paying the price for RFK Jr.’s agenda. Enough is enough, which is why I’m drafting articles of impeachment against @SecKennedy

Stevens has repeatedly called for RFK, Jr’s removal from his role since he became health secretary.
“Michiganders are tired of politicians who chase attention and ignore real problems. I’ve seen enough chaos from this administration and from Secretary Kennedy,” Stevens said in a statement Sept. 15.
“He’s making Michiganders unhealthy and unsafe. He needs to resign now. It’s time for leaders who fight for science, for health, and for the people, not those who undermine the progress our families and researchers work so hard to achieve,” Stevens said at the time.
According to Stevens, who has no official backing at the time, her articles of impeachment against RFK Jr. will focus on several points, including spending cut that she described as an “abdication of duty,” and his “failure to carry out statutory duties of HHS in administering the FDA and CDC.”
Stevens’ articles will also center on Kennedy’s vaccine policies, which Stevens said are “severely restricting access to vaccines and spreading absurd conspiracies, putting lives in danger, and raising healthcare costs,” according to The New York Post.
In her statement, Stevens also pointed to “wild and unfounded claims” RFK Jr. recently made at the White House warning about a possible link between acetaminophen use during pregnancy and autism “in an effort to limit access to Tylenol,” along with his decision to withdraw federal recommendations for COVID-19 shots for pregnant women and healthy children.
“Secretary Kennedy has violated his oath of office and proven himself unfit to serve the American people,” Stevens said.
“Congress must act to hold him accountable, and I intend to lead the charge to remove him from office.”
The Department of Health and Human Services did not respond to Stevens’ measures at the time of publication.
