Anyone that has not overdosed on liberal-flavored Kool-Aid is well aware that the mainstream media is biased beyond belief against President Donald Trump and his administration.
The ridiculous media outcry over the so-called scandal involving EPA administrator Scott Pruitt was initiated by the media portraying him as taking “luxury” travels on the taxpayers’ dime.
Reports have been circulating about pricey trips to Italy and Morocco that checked in with a total cost of roughly $160,000, and the general gist is that Pruitt is living it up due to his lofty position.
Absent in the vast majority of reporting over this alleged scandal is the actual purpose of Pruitt’s trips.
He was in Italy to attend a meeting of G-7 ministers, and his jaunt to Morocco had to do with promoting US natural gas exports.
Pruitt was also joined by other members of the agency’s staff, and they were all provided with the customary security detail that one would expect for government officials on international trips.
It is no secret that Pruitt’s trips did not cost an arm and a leg, international travel is ridiculously expensive to begin with, and things add up quick when we’re talking about officials, staff, and security detail.
The mainstream media would never report that former President Barack Obama’s EPA director racked up major costs on international travel as well.
Lisa Jackson served in the role from 2009 to 2013, and more than $330,000 was spent on airfare and security for international trips on her watch.
Next up was Gina McCarthy, who headed up the agency from 2013 to 2017. The tally for airfare and security while McCarthy was obnoxious! A staggering $630,000.
Were either of these tidbits offered up as reference points by a mainstream press that was tripping over itself to report on the cost of Pruitt’s trips? Nope.
Jahan Wilcox, an EPA spokesman, is among those who have called out the blatant hypocrisy that is yet again being displayed.
“The double standard couldn’t be more clear: Under Barack Obama’s EPA the media chose not to report on expenditures to protect the EPA administrator for international travel or the costs of their trips,” he explained to the Washington Free Beacon. “But under the Trump administration the costs to protect our government officials is somehow scandalous.”
This is all another example mainstream media having an agenda to grind with the commander-in-chief.
The puppet masters behind the scenes have pulled the strings and instructed their minions to run with this Pruitt story for all that it is worth.
They will eventually move on to their next talking point when they realize that they were once again unsuccessful in their efforts to spark outrage.
