President Donald Trump’s firing of FBI Director James Comey on Monday sent the mainstream media and top Democratic lawmakers alike into a frenzy — and their reactions reveal the unsettling hypocrisy that surrounds liberal politics.
Democrats don’t want you to think. They want you to feel.
The proof is in the reaction to Comey’s ouster.
Since the firing, liberals have thrown every nasty accusation they can at Trump. Cable news hosts and the mainstream media are throwing a microphone in their face of every lawmaker they can, digging for the right sound bite.
They say Trump’s a tyrant and claim he fired Comrey to cover his own skin in the Russian investigation.
Democratic lawmakers are, paradoxically, calling Trump too incompetent to be president… while also claiming this is part of a masterful behind-the-scene scheme to destroy America’s democracy.
Frankly, it’s disturbing… because it reveals the startling double-think liberals have surrounded themselves in.
Just months ago, these same top Democratic lawmakers were calling for Comey to be fired.
Now that Comey was fired by Trump, there’s outrage and indignation?
It’s ridiculous.
On Monday, New York Sen. Chuck Schumer said that Comey’s firing was part of a “deeply troubling pattern” surrounding the Trump administration.
In November, though, Schumer went on the record to say, “I’ve lost confidence in the FBI director” and called Comey’s decision making skills “appalling.”
Schumer isn’t alone.
Every single Democratic party leader had expressed the same distrust in Comey — and have done so repeatedly.
In the past few months, a virtual ‘who’s who’ of anti-Trump politicians have come out strongly against Comey:
- Nancy Pelosi has said Comey “may not be the right man for the job.”
- Harry Reid told reporters, “It’s time for Comey to resign” and demanded the Senate investigate him.
- Barack Obama scolded Comey before the election, saying that the FBI shouldn’t “operate on innuendo.”
- Jerry Nadler, a New York House Democrat, called on Obama to fire Comey before he left office.
- Hillary Clinton has repeatedly blamed Comey for her embarrassing loss in November.
- Maxine Waters has claimed Comey had “no credibility“ left.
- Elizabeth Warren attacked Comey for investigating Hillary instead of focusing on Wall Street.
- Bernie Sanders said that it “would not be bad thing for the American people” if Comey resigned.
After Trump followed their advice, though, liberals were left confused on how they should respond.
Their elected officials had asked for this, after all.
But it was Trump’s move… and they’d been told to “resist” every one of Trump’s moves.
“How should we feel!?” liberals wondered.
For example, Late Show comedian Stephen Colbert’s audience initially cheered the news – until Colbert corrected them.
A visibly upset Colbert explained that people cheering were “Trump fans” and explained that the firing was a bad thing… and the audience took a 180-degree swing and started booing the news.
Seriously, it’s insane. Watch the hypocrisy unfold yourself —

Busted.
On social media, the reaction was much the same.
For example, one liberal user called for Comey’s firing Monday afternoon —
FBI Director James Comey needs to be FIRED. He DEFINITELY influenced the election to damage Hillary Clinton … #ComeyGate #LockTrumpUp
— Willie L Davis (@WLD01) May 9, 2017
Just four hours later, he was condemning Trump for firing Comey —
FBI Director James Comey has been FIRED … SHAME on Republicans … #LockTrumpUp #ImpeachTrump
— Willie L Davis (@WLD01) May 9, 2017
It even had the president perplexed —
The Democrats have said some of the worst things about James Comey, including the fact that he should be fired, but now they play so sad!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 10, 2017
The hypocrisy of the left is stunning.
It’s shameful.
And Comey’s firing proves their unhinged double-think has grown out of control.
