“On the Holmes Front,” with Frank Holmes
Recent polls show most voters agree that the Biden administration is out of control.
Its policies have created runaway inflation, left U.S. citizens behind enemy lines to be slaughtered, opened our borders, and let foreign cartels pump drugs into our nation’s veins.
Now, Republicans are talking about playing their trump card to bring it all to an end.
The GOP is talking impeachment—and even some of the Beltway’s insider forces seem to be on board.
Congressional Republicans have decided to take one official at a time, at least for now.
They’ve decided to start with immigration, because it’s behind so many other problems—and they’ve set their sights on the Cabinet official in charge of it all: Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
Mayorkas is technically in charge of the border—no matter what Vice President Kamala Harris says—and he implements the policies that keep the borders open, law enforcement agents nervous, human smugglers rich, and illegal aliens coming in droves.
Republicans think they can send a message to President Joe Biden that they’re not kidding around if they take Mayorkas out of office.
“Right now, he’s got 30 days,” said House Republican leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., during a visit to the border earlier this week.
“His first response to us should be, ‘We should not lift Title 42,’” a policy that lets Border Patrol agents arrest illegal immigrants and turn them back to Mexico out of fear they might spread the coronavirus to Americans. Mayorkas has said he wants to lift the policy quickly.
That would cause illegal immigration in the U.S. to double, experts warned.
”They’re not prepared to protect, and we cannot sustain what will happen to this nation,” McCarthy said.
It’s bad enough already.
More illegal aliens have come into the U.S. under Biden’s watch than at any time in U.S. history… and it’s seemingly getting worse every day.
More than two-and-a-half million illegals have come into America since last January, and Mayorkas has no plans to stop it—only to speed it up.
He wants to speed up processing for so-called “refugees,” giving illegals an express lane into the U.S.
And he actually thinks he’s got everything in hand. He told Congress this week he had “effectively managed” the border.
Managed to erase it, maybe?
Now Republicans are talking seriously about impeachment.
“At any time if someone is derelict in their job, there is always the option of impeaching somebody,” said McCarthy.
That’s a big sign: McCarthy is an Establishment figure, an insider—Tucker Carlson called him a “liberal” (compared to his fellow Republicans) this week. But it looks like the whole House GOP is on board.
More than 130 House Republicans sent a letter to Mayorkas, saying, “Your failure to secure the border and enforce the laws passed by Congress raise grave questions about your suitability for office.”
They asked him procedural questions, but there’s a hard bottom line behind their letter: Record overdose deaths and drug trafficking by Mexican cartels of hard drugs like meth and fentanyl.
“They are trying to destroy and overwhelm our system,” Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., told Jesse Watters on Fox News this week.
“Secretary Mayorkas will be impeached,” she said. “If he doesn’t resign, he will be impeached.”
Rep. Andrew Clyde, R-Ga., told Newsmax, “I’m happy to vote for his impeachment.”
And Rep. Andy Biggs, R-Ariz., has actually done something about it: He’s introduced articles of impeachment.
“Secretary Mayorkas is a threat to the sovereignty and security of our nation. As a result of his actions and policies, America is more in danger today than when he began serving as Secretary,” he said. “He is willfully refusing to maintain operational control of the border and is encouraging aliens to enter our country illegally.”
With Mayorkas at the helm, “DHS is systematically releasing COVID-19 positive aliens into our communities, subjecting the American people to unnecessary and avoidable risks,” Rep.Biggs said.
So far 30 Republicans have signed on… but more are on the way.
And Mayorkas looks to be on his way out.
