Foreign powers — especially Communist countries — have been bombarding U.S. officials with sonic attacks for years in an attempt to harass or hurt them without leaving a trace.
U.S. diplomats in nations from China to Cuba all give the same story: During their trip, they go to sleep. At some time, usually in the middle of the night, the attacks begin.

They get severe headaches, nausea, ringing in the ears, brain fog, and confusion. Some say they lose their long-range vision.
There was no poison, no injection. Not one of the victims knew what hit them.
But the attacks all have the same symptoms and became so common among diplomats visiting Communist Cuba that intelligence agents called it “Havana Syndrome.”
The National Academy of Sciences came out with a report last year saying the attacks “are consistent with the effects of directed, pulsed radio frequency (RF) energy.”
The Communists first got that know-how about 50 years ago, the NAS said… and its use is on the upswing.
These microwave attacks are targeting American agents in Cuba, China, Russia, and spots all over Europe.
Marc Polymeropolous, who spent 26 years in the CIA, said he was targeted during a visit to Moscow four years ago.
The 2017 visit came during the height of the media’s obsession with “Russian collusion,” which turned out to be a hoax—but he says his pain is very real, and lasts to this day.
“I woke up in the middle of the night with an incredible case of vertigo, of tinnitus, which is ringing in the ears. I was falling over. I was nauseated,” he said.
“Since that incident, I have had a headache 24/7 for three years,” he told The Guardian. “And there’s a mental health challenge in this, too.”
He said he was “able to work for two hours every morning, but then I’d be spent.” He’d get exhausted “even having a conversation like this.”
He’s not the only one.
Counterintelligence officer Mike Beck went forward after he developed a rare form of Parkinson’s disease, which he says was linked to an overseas attack. (He won’t say where.)
But both Beck and his intelligence partner developed the exact same, unknown strain of the disease.
His partner died in 2016.
Things got so bad in China that the U.S. issues a travel warning in 2018 after numerous Americans experienced a “mild traumatic brain injury.”
What’s behind these mystery attacks all over the world?
A declassified NSA report released to the media revealed that foreign enemies had developed “a high powered microwave system weapon that may have the ability to weaken, intimidate or kill an enemy, over time, and without leaving evidence.”
Intelligence the NSA got in 2012 “indicated that this weapon is designed to bathe a target’s living quarters in microwaves, causing numerous physical effects, including a damaged nervous system,” according to the report.
Experts say these attacks have been going on for decades…and lawmakers don’t want to talk about it.
“There’s some confidential things that we are not going to be talking about and that’s one of them,” said Senator James Inhofe, R-Okla.
President Barack Obama didn’t say anything, either, since he hoped to restore normal relations with Marxist Cuba—and he wanted to convince China to take action to cut down carbon emissions that fuel “climate change.”
So, U.S. victims got swept under the rug for years.
But now, two major congressional leaders—one a Republican, the other a Democrat—want answers about attacks from “microwave system weapons.”
Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., and Mark Warner, D-Va., lead the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence—and they want spy agencies to start talking.
“For nearly five years, we have been aware of reports of mysterious attacks on United States Government personnel in Havana, Cuba and around the world,” they said. “This pattern of attacking our fellow citizens serving our government appears to be increasing.”
The two leaders say they plan to “focus on ensuring we protect our personnel and provide the medical and financial support the victims deserve.”

“Ultimately we will identify those responsible for these attacks on American personnel and will hold them accountable,” they say.
That’s a big change from Barack Obama’s coddling of the Communist regimes, which left U.S. agents to pay a permanent price.
