“On the Holmes Front,” with Frank Holmes
Joe Biden keeps setting records as president—and, sadly, he’s just done it again.
Biden gave us the highest inflation rate in 40 years.
His presidency saw the number of opioid overdoses hit their highest level, multiple times over.
He set a record for the highest number of illegal aliens to enter the U.S. in a single year — every year of his presidency. (And that’s related to the other two.)
He’s also holds the undisputed crown as the oldest, and most cognitively impaired, president in American history.
Now, he’s set our country spiraling down to historic lows on yet another front: In Joe Biden’s America, criminals have shot more law enforcement officers than ever before.
378 police officers were shot in the line of duty in 2023, according to a new report released by the Fraternal Order of Police.
That shameful statistic is “the highest number the FOP has ever recorded,” said Patrick Yoes, FOP national president.
To make matters worse, 138 police officers were shot, and 20 were killed, in ambush attacks.
In all, criminals perpetrated 115 ambushes — sick, targeted attacks aimed to lure police into a vulnerable position and then assassinate them.

In total, 46 police officers were murdered in cold blood last year.
“Many will often look at this data and just see numbers, but we must remember that they represent heroes — fathers, mothers, sons, and daughters. This scale of violence against our officers is horrifying and simply unsustainable,” said Yoes.
The deaths are unsustainable and getting worse: 330 police officers were shot while defending us in 2022.
This year’s grim total represents a 14 percent increase in cop shootings in one year — and an incredible 60 percent rise in five years ago in 2018, when Donald Trump was president.
But then, a lot has changed since 2018: Hundreds of BLM riots, a “racial reckoning,” and the forced, whole-of-society, top-down imposition of a new DEI-based religion has reset society, making it a harsher — and deadlier — place to live.
Mobs were told they are right to riot… and people like Missouri’s Mark and Patricia McCloskey don’t have the right to protect themselves.
Police were told to stand down and let cities burn.
In this environment, seasoned police officers don’t want to stick around, and no one wants to replace them.
Police resignations rose 47 percent in 2022 compared to the year before.
American streets, neighborhoods, and precinct stations have about five percent fewer police overall than they did in 2020, according to a report released last April by the Police Executive Research Forum.
“It is no wonder that our profession is facing a recruitment and retention crisis. What father or mother would want their child to become an officer knowing the dangers they face every day?” asked Yoes.
The crisis is starting to set off alarm bell in every village and city, all the way to the White House.
“The recruitment and retention crisis is the number one issue I hear about from our state, tribal, and local law enforcement partners across the country,” said Biden’s assistant attorney general, Vanita Gupta — a hardcore leftist — last year.
The crisis is because of the Left’s unfathomable hatred of police, Democrats’ weak-on-crime policies, and the deadly crime it inspires.
The Biden administration knows it. They even admitted it in writing.
“The current, often negative, public perception of policing has a direct impact on agencies’ ability to recruit new and retain current officers,” said a 2023 report from the Justice Department. “Some potential candidates are no longer drawn to policing as an attractive career option, and some existing officers are resigning or retiring because of the increased stress and burnout caused in part by the erosion of public trust in the profession.”
Instead of fixing things, Joe Biden signed an executive order restricting so-called “no knock warrants,” forcing police to announce themselves before they try to arrest a suspect.
That gives the criminal time to get prepared and ambush police as they walk through the door.
He’s also ignored police’s requests. “When this Congress convened, I asked that they act swiftly and pass the Protect and Serve Act, which would address the national problem of ambushes and unprovoked attacks on our nation’s law enforcement officers. They have not done so,” said Yoes. “What more would it take for lawmakers in Washington to see how necessary it is to pass this legislation?”
Instead, Joe Biden has spent three years pushing the “George Floyd Justice in Policing” Act…because George Floyd is more important than police safety in his mind.
And even in his most recent State of the Union address, Biden can stop talking about police abuse.
How does the Biden administration propose to fix all this?
It asks police departments recruit only police officers who have “emotional intelligence,” as well as “empathy, relationship building, communication, and understanding of the community. Agencies can also seek to identify candidates with skills such as conflict resolution, mediation, and de-escalation.”
The Left wants your police officer to have the toughness and grit of Pajama Boy, Phil Donahue, and Woody Allen instead of Clint Eastwood, Charles Bronson, and John Wayne.
Of course, the Biden administration has a whole section on implementing “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.”
Naturally, Biden supports discriminatory racial quotas, but the report also encourages police agencies to focus on “increased recruitment efforts that will appeal to multilingual applicants.”
Not only does Biden want your local police to be wimps, they also shouldn’t speak English.
The idiocy led one observer to write in frustration, “Democrats should be left to their own devices and not allowed to call police for any reason.”

Of all the statistics we quoted at the beginning of this article — for all the huge, manifest, and undeniable failures Joe Biden has inflicted on America — the rising number of police being shot in the line of duty is the worst.
Biden not only sides with lawless criminals, but he demonizes and demeans the thin blue line that keeps us all safe.
Police know when they put on the badge every morning that they may not come home at night. Joe Biden seems to be working overtime to make sure they don’t.
We need to make sure Biden, and everyone who thinks like him, has a long, safe, peaceful life… in a cell, surrounded by the boys in the blue.
