MSNBC host Rachel Maddow’s star is fading — and the proof came on Wednesday morning.
Since President Donald Trump’s election in 2016, Maddow had enjoyed being the most-watched woman in news.
But Fox News’ Laura Ingraham overtook Maddow in July, ratings data showed.
Ingraham’s success was replicated by her network colleagues Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson. Combined, the three primetime stars helped set record ratings for Fox News in July.
In fact, of the ‘big five’ cable news shows, Fox News boasted the top three — and four of the top five.
“The top five cable news programs for the month of July were as follows: Hannity (4,096,000), Tucker Carlson Tonight (4,020,000), The Ingraham Angle (3,415,000), The Rachel Maddow Show (3,339,000), The Five (3,307,000),” The Washington Examiner reported.
The ratings jump comes despite President Donald Trump’s increasingly critical comments on the network.
In June, Trump said he was disappointed that the conservative news network wasn’t doing more to defend his administrations decisions during the coronavirus outbreak.
And on Wednesday, he tweeted that the network had changed over the last four years and was “not even watchable.”
I was on Air Force One flying to the Great State of Texas, where I just landed. It is AMAZING in watching @FoxNews how different they are from four years ago. Not even watchable. They totally forgot who got them where they are!
