A reality television star from was found dead lying on a New York City sidewalk on Tuesday, according to a law enforcement report.
Lyric McHenry, 26, appeared regularly on the show EJNYC on E! television and was 20 weeks pregnant. According to the an official statement from officials, there were no signs of foul play. Police are investigating whether she died of a possible overdose.
The New York Police Department released a statement saying, a “26-year-old woman was found early Tuesday morning unconscious and unresponsive, lying on the sidewalk in the vicinity of Undercliff Avenue and Boscobel Place, within the confines of the 44 Precinct.”
Officers responded to the call shortly after 5 a.m.m on Tuesday where police arrived to find McHenry lying on the sidewalk alone.
“EMS responded to the location and transported the aided female to Bronx Lebanon Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased,” the statement added.
The New York Times is reporting that McHenry was found lying on a Bronx sidewalk partially clothed with a bag of cocaine nearby — sparking speculation of a possible overdose.
McHenry’s father, Hollywood producer Doug McHenry has asked “that all speculation surrounding the circumstances of death cease until the real facts are determined” by the authorities.
Officials are awaiting results from the medical examiner to determine her official cause of death.
