The poll aggregates see a close race between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump. However, they predict a Trump victory in one very important location: a hot dog eating contest.
Earlier this month, pollsters at Echelon Insights surveyed 1,020 likely voters online, and they asked about our lifetime’s most important contest, a game of Monopoly between Trump and Biden (Only 29 percent thought Biden would win in Monopoly, by the way, and 49 predicted that Trump would build a big, beautiful hotel on every little lot.)
Respondents expected Trump to beat Biden at most contests.
58 percent of respondents predicted a Trump victory in a hot dog eating contest, with only 13 percent betting on Biden. 48 percent saw Trump as the more formidable opponent against a medium-sized canine, and 17 percent would back Biden. Rough!
Trump was also seen as the better person to assemble Ikea furniture (34 vs. 31 percent), sing at karaoke (35 vs. 26 percent), and compete on the game show Family Feud (48 vs. 28 percent).
Respondents expected Biden to outperform Trump at a few tasks: changing a baby’s diaper, house-sitting for a long weekend, and teaching a beginners’ cooking class.
The pollsters must have forgotten to specify that cooking involves more than just scooping ice cream.
According to this poll, Biden still suffers from low approval (43 percent to Trump’s 47).
In the general election, Biden was polling three points ahead of Trump (49 to 46), within the poll’s 3.9-percent margin of error.
