The judge overseeing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband Paul’s DUI case was replaced just hours before Wednesday’s arraignment, Fox News reported late Tuesday.
That’s just the beginning of the scandal. According to Fox News host Jesse Watters, the suspected DUI crash was far worse than originally reported — and may include drug use.
The House Speaker’s 82-year-old husband was arrested following the May 28 crash in Napa County, north of San Francisco, after a DUI test showed he had a blood alcohol content level of .082%. The blood sample was taken about two hours after the collision occurred at 10:17 p.m., the Napa County District Attorney’s Office said in a statement.
He was driving a 2021 Porsche into an intersection near the town of Yountville and was hit by a 2014 Jeep, according to the California Highway Patrol.
He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol causing injury and driving with a .08% blood alcohol level or higher causing injury.
According to the alleged leak, Watters claimed the crash was far more serious than originally reported. There was “major collision damage” that totaled both vehicles. The victim reportedly complained the next day that “he had pain to his upper right arm, right shoulder and neck” and claimed that “it was also difficult to lift with his right arm and he was suffering from headaches.”
When officers arrived at the scene, Paul allegedly handed them both his ID card and his 11-99 Foundation donor card. The 11-99 Foundation is a charitable organization that benefits California Highway Patrol officers and provides scholarships to their children.
According to the leaked document, Paul was in the accident “while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and a drug and under their combined influence.”
His attorney told Fox News, “I believe that the drug reference is part of the statutory boilerplate language in the complaint.”
According to Watters, the court has banned all cameras from the arraignment hearing and prohibited recordings of the courtroom live feed.
“But that’s just where the cover-up begins,” Watters claimed on his show Tuesday. “The night before the hearing, the presiding judge has mysteriously stepped down and a new judge has been quickly installed.”
“So, who is this new judge? You’re not going to believe this,” he claimed. “Her name is Monique Langhorn, and she’s a registered Democrat whose previous job” was at the Napa County District Attorney’s office.
Judge Langhorn has no prior experience in criminal cases, Watters said.
“Guess who donated to this judge’s campaign? The assistant D.A. — who will be prosecuting the case — and the District Attorney, Allison Haley.”
