The Oscars may not have a host for their main ceremony, but they had two when nominees for the 91st Academy Awards were read Tuesday morning.
Actors Kumail Nanjiani and Tracee Ellis Ross emceed the announcement of nominees for the best in film in 24 categories.
It was a big morning for films like “A Star Is Born,” ″Black Panther,” “Bohemian Rhapsody,” and “Roma.” A best picture nomination for “Roma” was Netflix’s first, and Spike Lee finally got his first best director nomination for “BlacKkKlansman.” And the critically-successful “Vice” piled in awards, along with Christian Bale for his portrayal of former Vice President Dick Cheney.
But of course, the announcements were not without controversy. Voices everywhere on Twitter were steadfast to declare the snubs.
Of those left out was Toni Collete for her performance in the drama thriller “Hereditary.” The snub led many film lovers feeling like this:

Another popular snub was Ethan Hawke in “First Reformed,” where he played a preacher in a crisis of faith. Many are saying it was the most obvious omit of the festivities.

And it wasn’t just that some actors and films were left behind, but that many film buffs were OUTRAGED at some of the nominees, such as “Bohemian Rhapsody” for getting the best picture nod.
Both black panther and Bohemian Rhapsody are so overrated. The academy loves money and wants the ratings to go up by nominating the "locals" "popular" movies of the Year. Taste ? ???? NO #OscarNoms pic.twitter.com/hpScDWa5Sx
