Liberal idealism never holds up to reality – and even hardcore leftists in Europe are quietly waking up to the need for secure borders.
Liberal European governments are taking action against the refugee crisis in response to several terror attacks that have taken place in the past few weeks.
European leaders were once praised for their open border policies allowing free flow of illegal immigrants and refugees into their countries, largely unchecked. Big mistake!
Now they have come to their senses as many have started to reverse these dangerous programs and increase deportation of violent migrants dramatically.
But the liberal critics of President Donald Trump’s travel ban have once again proven their hypocrisy. Many of these leaders are still publically opposed to the ban, while they quietly deport those refugees they so widely and visibly accepted.
German Chancellor Merkel took every opportunity to blast Trump’s executive order that temporarily prevented citizens entering the US from countries deemed a threat to national security. According to Reuters, she called the ban “contrary to the basic principles” of humanitarian aid.
Conversely, she has been deporting Afghan refugees for months….and the media has been silent.
Merkel also vowed to do “everything” she could to help those affected by the ban.
Well, Crazy Angie has outdone herself this time, flip-flopping on this issue in response to (predictable!) terror attacks.
Not only has she continued deporting violent Afghan migrants following the bombing outside the German Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan at the end of May, but she also has planned to establish deportation centers in Morocco for criminal refugee minors.
All this is following her December proposal to ban the hijab in Germany – and she was applauded for it.
Imagine if Trump proposed a hijab ban like this…the left would go insane!
Germany isn’t the only country going back on their open border promises to accept and protect refugees and immigrants.
Italy has been deporting upwards of 1,000 migrants a month, according to Heatstreet. Officials predict refugee arrivals have increased by up to 24% compared to last year – and these aren’t refugees seeking asylum.
Italy continues to suspect that many of these migrants are only seeking to benefit from the economic prosperity of Europe, although they claim to be fleeing war-torn areas.
France has had enough of this violence and seeks to rid itself of these violent freeloaders disrupting the country! They have been setting up roadblocks and raiding known camps to round up and deport illegal migrants.
In France, refugee migrants have repeatedly clashed with French police and each other, causing gang fights and fires. Refugees have even started attacking truck drivers going through France: slashing tires, smashing windshields and even assaulting the drivers unprovoked.
Even Turkey, who recently criticized other European countries for closing borders, has built a 900 km wall along the Syrian border to prevent refugees from pouring in. Turkey has long since accepted Syrian refugees, but they cannot ignore the increase in terror attacks that has taken place in their borders in recent years.
It seems that all of these countries, who were applauded for idiotic liberal borders in 2015, are finally accepting the very policy they criticized Trump for only months ago!
Trump’s solution doesn’t seem like such a bad thing anymore, does it…
