Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., appears to have lost goodwill among her far-left allies.
On Thursday, Ocasio-Cortez’s office reportedly declined to meet with a health care activist. “We’re not doing health care right now,” one of her staffers said, according to the activist — and it has caused a huge backlash among supporters.
Ocasio-Cortez quickly apologized, but one prominent Democrat demanded more.
Namely, New York state Sen. Jessica Ramos — a “Working Families Democrat” representing parts of Ocasio-Cortez’s own district — slammed Ocasio-Cortez on Twitter.
Ramos accused Ocasio-Cortez of spending too little time in her home district… and she asked about disciplinary measures for the wayward staffer.
“Maybe if you spent more time in your office and with your team you’d know what goes on,” Ramos said. “Just saying it would be nice if you breathed our air. So, as an employer, what happens with the staffer who said this?”
An argument erupted online when one twitter user rushed to Ocasio-Cortez’ defense.
“This is a very disappointing statement Senator Ramos. We do not even know if this is even true and all this is going to do is have right wing news freaks come in here to attack her,” the Twitter user @hanszek said to the state senator.
“The question is not about whether she is present in the community. The question is about this hypothetical ‘meeting’ that supposedly did not happen. I like the work both of y’all do and this seems like an issue that y’all should resolve in DM’s, not some rando’s tweet responses.”
The state-senator defended her tweets about Ocasio-Cortez… and she voiced some personal grievances about the congresswoman.
Ramos said, “Our district offices are on the same floor in the same building. She’s barely ever present in the community. It’s an indisputable fact.” The state senator added later, “I texted on 1/6 that I hope she’s ok and never even heard back.”
After bashing the congresswoman, Ramos attracted attention from both mainstream media and individuals on Twitter.
According to one Twitter user, Ocasio-Cortez lost her own game. In her first campaign, Ocasio-Cortez had hammered her opponent — former Rep. Joe Crowley, D-N.Y. — for refusing to meet with her.

Ocasio-Cortez attracted the ire of some self-identified socialists since taking office.
In 2020, she disappointed supporters by meeting with an incumbent congressman instead of endorsing his opponent, a card-carrying member of the Democratic Socialists of America.
She’s also faced criticism for failing to tweet about “Medicare for All” often enough. Yes, really!
On Sunday, the health care activist accused Ocasio-Cortez of prioritizing publicity stunts over legislation on health care. “While she’s doing performative resistance art for the camera’s she’s ‘not doing healthcare right now,'” he tweeted.
It seems even the far-Left is fed up with Ocasio-Cortez’s antics.

so while she’s doing performative resistance art for the camera’s she’s “not doing healthcare right now.” We are in the middle of two pandemics & people are still dying because they lack healthcare. this is not fighting.
