Someone made a Twitter account to parody Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y. — and the New York lawmaker is not happy.
The parody account, @AOCpress, went viral for mocking Ocasio-Cortez’s frequent feuds with Twitter CEO Elon Musk.
“This might be the wine talking, but I’ve got a crush on @elonmusk [Twitter CEO Elon Musk],” the parody account tweeted Sunday, prompting a spirited reaction from Musk himself.

The real Ocasio-Cortez is aware of the account… and she’s not a fan.
“FYI there’s a fake account on here impersonating me and going viral. The Twitter CEO has engaged it, boosting visibility,” the socialist representative tweeted Tuesday. “It is releasing false policy statements and gaining spread.”
The parody account was tweeting some outlandish ideas. For example, it tweeted a proposal to allow citizens to print their own money, and it also announced a proposal to produce more wind energy by flying helicopters over the windmills year-round.
However, the parody account has described Ocasio-Cortez’s real ideas as equally ridiculous.
As an ironic joke, the parody account pretended to be Ocasio-Cortez herself, and it tweeted, “I can’t believe people would think these parody tweets are from our office when they are clearly fake. Come on y’all you know I would never say something as stupid as that.”

Take a look —
If the government can print money, citizens should be allowed to. If we had money printers in each household, everyone would be rich and the economy would be booming.

To make windmills more effective – when the wind doesn’t blow, we should have helicopters hover over each of them and keep them turning year round.

Historically, Ocasio-Cortez has not done well with online trolls. She said that Republicans were scrutinizing her because they wanted to date her.
Still, Ocasio-Cortez stopped short of calling for Twitter to suspend the parody account.
“I am assessing with my team how to move forward,” the congresswoman said. “In the meantime, be careful of what you see.”

If Republicans are mad they can’t date me they can just say that instead of projecting their sexual frustrations onto my boyfriend’s feet.
