Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., is in the midst of a tough primary contest — and President Donald Trump’s supporters are doing their part to undermine her re-election efforts.
According to reports, Ocasio-Cortez’ opponent, former CNBC star Michelle Caruso-Cabrera, has amassed a massive financial war chest from donors.
Surprisingly, among those donors are included some big-name Trump backers.
Top GOP donors Stanley Hubbard — owner of Hubbard Broadcasting, Nelson Patz — a financer, Walter Buckley — an investor, and Darren Blanton — a so-called “cowboy venture capitalist, have all given huge donations to Trump’s re-election campaign and super PACs.
They’ve also all maxed out their $5,600 donations to see Ocasio-Cortez unseated.
“AOC’s divisive behavior has created the national coalition supporting MCC. AOC continues to work against our presumptive Presidential nominee Joe Biden. AOC prefers to be with Donald Trump 13.7 percent of the time,” a spokesman for Caruso-Cabrera told The New York Post when asked about the donations.
