Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez caught in huge new China scandal

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., came to power with big lies about campaign finance reform. “100% People-Funded, no lobbyist [money],” she still says in her Twitter bio.

But on Thursday, the socialist congresswoman was reportedly found to have diverted campaign funds toward registered foreign agents of the People’s Republic of China.

According to a review by Fox News, Ocasio-Cortez was paying for advertising expenses from Sing Tao U.S., a subsidiary of a DOJ-registered “foreign agent.”

In other words, Ocasio-Cortez was paying for midterm ads in a publication affiliated with Beijing. The same day as the Fox report, Ocasio-Cortez voted against the House’s statement of intent to condemn the horrors of socialism.

However, Ocasio-Cortez was hardly alone in the Democratic Party. Fox News also uncovered unseemly transfers by Reps. Nicole Malliotakis, R-N.Y., Grace Meng, D-N.Y., and Kevin Mullin, D-Calif. — and Mullin also voted against the resolution to condemn socialism.

Amid this scandal, the People’s Republic is being suspected of flying a spy balloon over Montana, and U.S. State Secretary Anthony Blinken has postponed his planned trip to Beijing.

Sing Tao News Corporation, the parent company of Sing Tao U.S.,  has qualified as a foreign agent since August 2021… and it’s reportedly received at least $1,500 from Ocasio-Cortez’s campaign since then.

The company remains best known for publishing the second-largest newspaper in Hong Kong, the site of its headquarters. However, it also publishes Chinese-language newspapers in New York, the congresswoman’s home state.

Sing Tao, the newspaper, receives more than half its content from a company called Shenzhen Limited, according to an Axios review of Foreign Agents Registration Act filings. The publisher reportedly denies any affiliation with the Chinese Communist Party.
