If Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., has his way, former President Barack Obama is going to have to answer questions about the debunked Trump-Russia investigation.
And he’ll answer those questions under oath.
Graham told Fox News star Sean Hannity last week that he also believes Obama’s personal circle should be hauled-in for questioning over the “Deep State” scandal against then-Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. He wants to know what, and when, Obama knew about the operation.
“The day of reckoning is coming to the DOJ and FBI leadership who sought the wiretap of [Trump campaign aide] Carter Paige and opened up the counter-intelligence investigation,” Graham told Hannity during a recent appearance.

“We know the bulk of the information [that opened the investigation] was unverifiable, and when the FBI finally got around to it they even said it was 90 to 100 percent false,” Hannity pointed out.
“To this day it’s unverified,” Graham replied. “As for the counter-intelligence investigation, the no real evidence I’ve seen to suggest [Trump aide George Papadopolas] was actually working with the Russians. That came from our own people, that briefed him on [former Secretary of State Hillary] Clinton’s emails.”
“The bottom line is: Who briefed President Obama, if anybody, about the counter-intelligence operation against the Trump campaign?” Graham asked. “And finally, why did they not tell the Trump campaign that they had concerns about people working for him [were] tied to Russia? That’s what you’re supposed to do in a counter-intelligence investigation.”
That’s when Hannity asked the real bombshell — and Graham’s response likely left Obama and his political allies stunned.
“Do you agree with [former FBI Deputy Director] Andy McCarthy that any counter-intelligence investigation has to have a president behind it?” Hannity asked.

As evidence, Hannity pointed out that former FBI agents Peter Strzok and Lisa Page mentioned the White House “wanting to know every detail” of the investigation in their controversial text message exchanges.
“Does that mean that Barack Obama, the president at the time, should be asked what he knew and when he knew it about all this?” Hannity asked.
“I can’t imagine an investigation of the Republican nominee for president’s campaign … was not approved at the highest level,” Graham said. “I cannot imagine it happening without somebody in the White House knowing about it, and the question to me is, ‘Who told Obama?'”
“And when you find out who that person is, you begin to put the puzzle together,” he continued.
“Do you think [Obama] needs to be asked those questions… under oath?” Hannity asked.

“Absolutely. I want to talk to McCabe, Comey, all of them,” Graham said.
“Did you ever inform President Obama of the counter-intelligence investigation? What did you tell him, when did you tell him? I want to know what Obama thought about the counter-intelligence investigation — and why did no one tell Trump? The whole point of a counter-intelligence investigation is to protect people.”

Graham isn’t the only source of pressure for answers in Washington, D.C.
The DOJ and FBI are both facing increased pressure from a number of legal watchdog groups in court, as well as lawmakers on Capitol Hill. Advocates are demanding the organizations release documents related to the so-called “Deep State” scandal.
“To declassify is so important because if this were a Democrat President or a Democrat Candidate, that was spied on the way President Trump was spied on, this would be a scandal that would make Watergate look like nothing,” conservative activist Charlie Kirk told Fox Business Channel in a recent interview.

The American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ), a conservative legal watchdog, has recently filed numerous Freedom of Information Act requests with both the FBI and the DOJ involving a rumored second “spy” inserted by former FBI Director James Comey into the Trump White House.
“This is too big to be ignored. James Comey is in big trouble,” ACLJ’s Jordan Sekulow wrote in August. “This behavior cannot be allowed in a constitutional republic. We need to get to the bottom of this, but we don’t know what information this spy was passing along.”
