Insiders across the media are reporting that former President Barack Obama has slammed his former vice president.
Obama is not happy that Joe Biden is running for president.
According to The New York Times, Obama even asked Biden not to run last year. He was worried Biden would hurt their political legacy by running yet another failed campaign.
“You don’t have to do this, Joe, you really don’t,” Obama allegedly told his old running mate.
Yikes.
If the reports are true, it’s clear that Obama never trusted his V.P. to begin with. And if there’s anything Obama has been right about, it’s Biden’s inability to run a smooth campaign.
It’s getting so bad for the former VP that his campaign staff has tried to limit his public appearances in order to limit his snafus and gaffes.
Which led former Obama senior advisor David Axelrod to write on Twitter that either Biden either “can cut it or he can’t.”
Axelrod told The Times that the Obama and Biden marriage wasn’t the smooth sailing the mainstream media showed. Instead, it was a forced “shotgun marriage” or sorts. Obama loyalists had concerns with Biden’s “simmering ambition” — it was a regular source of tension between the two.
Furthermore, Biden went as far as lying to Obama’s face — he said that he’d never attempt to run for president again, a move that would overshadow Obama’s legacy.
Yet, here we are in 2020, where Biden is currently the Democratic nominee.
And Obama is not happy.
At all.
