Nancy Pelosi’s weird new plot to rig elections?

If there’s one thing Democrats care about, it’s power, and now they think they’ve found a new way to keep it: Members of the party’s left-wing caucus want to lower the voting age to 16.

And it’s not just idle talk. They’ve got the most powerful ally possible on their side: Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.

The latest came from a member of the ultra-leftists “Squad,” led by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez from New York.

Her fellow radical — Rep. Ayanna Pressley, D-Mass. — said that lowering the voting age to 16 is the best way to implement Critical Race Theory. And that view is supported by the best-known proponent of CRT, Ibram X. Kendi.

“I was just asking Dr. Kendi about his recommendations for policies that are actively anti-racist and in what we should be speaking to advance in this moment,” said Congresswoman Pressley. “And he was bringing up my amendment to H.R. 1 to lower the voting age to 16 in federal elections.” The House of Representatives voted down Pressley’s amendment by 302-125.

Pressley, the quietest member of the Squad, said on a Zoom call with Kendi that she just couldn’t fathom the opposition to her proposal.

“Dr. Kendi, I was shocked by how polarizing an issue this was,” she said. “And what I would tell people (is), ‘Well listen, (the late Democratic congressman) John Lewis is an original co-sponsor of this.’”

She said Americans should let people who are too young to serve in the armed forces vote, because “our young people deserve to have a stakeholder (sic.) in our democracy.”

She led Kendi into endorsing the measure, which even some of her fellow House Democrats helped squash.

“Why do you believe that that’s anti-racist?” she asked Kendi.

Kendi said he was totally on board: “The younger, the better,” he said.

“One of the areas in which we’ve talked quite a bit in terms of black and brown folks being disenfranchised,” he said.

Kendi’s wrong, or lying, about popular voter protection and election integrity measures. State laws don’t actually disenfranchise anyone; they make it hard to cheat by requiring a state-issued ID.

“But,” Kendi continued, “young black and brown folks, in particular, are facing the brunt of disenfranchisement,” because “younger generations are predominantly black and brown.” Kendi’s right about that: New figures from the 2020 Census, released today, show that all U.S. population growth has come from minorities. “The year 2011 was the first time more non-white babies were born than white babies, and for the past two decades, the growth of the nation’s child population has been due entirely to Hispanic, Asian, and multiracial people,” according to The Boston Globe.

“Anything that can ensure that younger people could vote—the younger, the better—is going to then allow more black and brown folks to vote,” Kendi said.

But are 16-year-olds mature enough to vote? House Speaker Nancy Pelosi thinks so. She came out in favor of lowering the voting age to 16 in 2019, saying it was a good way for Democrats to “capture” young people.

“I myself have always been for lowering the voting age to 16,” she said at the time. “I think it’s really important to capture kids when they’re in high school, when they’re interested in all of this, when they’re learning about government, to be able to vote.”

Pressley and Pelosi say they back lowering the voting age by two more years in order to help young people become great contributors to society. But maybe it has something to do with the way those youngsters would vote. Polls show the younger voters are, the more likely they are to be liberal. 43% of voters aged 18-34 say they are economically liberal, and 41% say they’re socially liberal…almost twice as much as any other age group.

So, lowering the voting age for the first time since the 26th Amendment was passed in 1971 could be Pelosi’s way to hold onto power.

Or maybe it has something to do with the fact that—according to Kamala Harris—young people are “stupid.”

“Remember, age is more than a chronological fact,” she said when she was the district attorney of San Francisco. “What else do we know about this population, 18 through 24? They are stupid.”

That makes them perfect fall guys for the socialism being pushed by Pelosi, Pressley, Kendi, and Kamala.
